They, Michael Hastings, All Movie Guide, Say
PLOT DESCRIPTION Founder of the Slamdance Film Festival Paul Rachman makes his feature-length debut with this tale of dishonor among thieves, solidly in the vein of 1994's Shallow Grave. When four friends (Olivia Williams, Balthazar Getty, Daniel London, and Stacy Edwards) travel to Buenos Aires to crash a wedding reception, they have more on their mind than just a lively evening of free drinks and the Chicken Dance. With the aid of ace thief Felix (Tim Curry), they steal a precious Degas statuette from the mansion owner hosting the shindig and abscond to L.A. Unfortunately, the objet d'art is nowhere to be found, and the covert dealer (Forest Whitaker) who's expecting it is none too pleased. He demands that they come up with the piece or $1,000,000 immediately. To solve their problem, the four compadres take out life insurance policies on each another and plot out which friend is going to die in order to proffer the heist money. ~ Michael Hastings, All Movie Guide http://movies2.nytimes.com/
We, Poker and Life, Say,
Okay it has a a really cool name and there is that old picture of dogs play poker and smoking cigars it has to be good. Well the above review was the kindest that we could find and we have to agree that it is a corny movie without much of a plot. BUT it must have something to do with poker! No, you are wrong I think I remember one card being dealt out to four people once. Maybe they should rename it "Four Dogs Playing War".
With all that said we still think every good poker player should watch it just to say they have watched one more poker movie. It is also the ultimate no limit game, it is just their life there are playing for! Just make sure you are playing online poker when you watch "Four Dogs Playing Poker".
In a few days or weeks from now all the information you want about other great poker movies like
